I lied about VirtualDub also sorry, can't remember what I used that for, maybe the PSP. Normally I use PocketDivXEncoder. You need to have the DivX codec to be able to play back. I think. Bit confusing.

i've had something irritantingly similar happen over the last couple days - winscript.exe or something just uses 99% of my resources. so i just terminate it....sorry work IT admin people...ru not worried about invalidating your warranty by installing...
