Didn't go see the band in Hythe last night, did the quiz at The Grand instead. It's an easy one, so though we did quite well, we didn't do well enough. We dropped six questions out of 36, two on our vital joker round, so no meal for four prize for us.
I think that's the first local pub I've been in since the smoking ban came in, I was wondering how much business migh suffer, but it seems to have had no effect there. They might be making a bit more of an effort to push the bar food, or it might be just coincidence that more people were eating, looked quite good anyway.
Off to Canterbury in a bit, and was planning to write up more of my holiday and go through the photos and video... however am being distracted a bit by new music, new to me anyway, just got the new Travis album The Boy With No Name, last year's Standing At The Edge Of Control by The Gossip, and also Eric Cartman's Sailing Away. I thought I used this song when I made my compilation CD for driving around the country on tour, but I messed up and picked something else, which we then had to listen to lots of times as I only brought one CD. Here's the tracklist anyway;
Holidays In The Sun - The Sex Pistols
One Hand - David Devant & His Spirit Wife
Lazy Line Painter Jane - Belle and Sebastian
In the Navy - Village People
Da Doo Ron Ron (When He Walked Me Home) - The Crystals
A Rainy Night In Soho - The Pogues
You've Got A Friend - James Taylor
Sail Away - Randy Newman
All These Things That I've Done - The Killers
Radio Ga Ga - Queen
Enter Sandman - Metallica
Gambler - Kenny Rogers
American Pie - Don McLean
You're Nobody till Somebody loves you - Dean Martin
Aren't I just the best DJ?
Possibly some spare time to go through some holiday snaps before heading to Canterbury for lunch, mmm Wagamama...

Someone's been having some fun with the Folkestone entry in wikipedia... it says:
The Creative Foundation is a new charitable organisation which is acquiring a large number of run-down properties in the Creative Quarter of Folkestone (the oldest part of town, including the Old High Street and The Bayle), renovating them and letting them at long-term affordable rents as workspaces for artists and creative businesses(some with living accommodation).
Two painters, a fisherman, an independent fashion guru, a bronze monkey, a musician (he says he is), no graphic designers, no filmmakers, etc are all taking space as the renovation work is completed.
Cheeky! You can edit this here, anyone can, there's always mischief afoot...

This looks interesting, an invitation to a preview of a retrospective of the works of David Clarke, son of Harry Clarke and Margaret Clarke. If you can have such a thing as a preview to a retrospective.
You are bidding for a paperback exhibtion preview invitation :
DAVID CLARKE RETROSPECTIVE ALSO FEATURING WORK BY HIS PARENTS, MARGARET AND HARRY CLARKE
Published : The Frederick Gallery, Dublin 2000
It measures 30 x 21 cms and contains 12 pages with 55 colour illustrations in total.
This pamphelt acts as the invitation to a major reptrospective of the work of David Clarke. It features a short Introductions on the artists by Fiona Griffin. The opening section features forty lovely colour reproductions of the works of David Clarke in the exhibition.
There are also sections at the rear on Margaret Clarke - Introduction + 12 illustrations and also his father Harry Clarke with an Introduction and 3 illustrations.
An elusive item for all fans of the Clarke family.
I've lain my own filthy paws on original works by both Margaret and David, get me. I think the Frederick Gallery that is mentioned there may have been the family home at some point (Harry's, not mine).
