For those of you in London, you could do worse than The Barfly, I'll hand over to them to explain why:
Spitfire Club's opening night plays host to riotous rockers Tokyo Dragons whose live set promises to be an onslaught of true rock n roll. Having just released their debut single Teenage Screamers through Island (produced by Pedro Ferreira who also produced some band called The Darkness they've gathered together an impressive collection of plaudits including Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, Dazed And Confused, Ian Camfield
the list goes on. Musically, it's Thin Lizzy, The Ramones, Motorhead mixed with Motown, Glam Rock and Soul. The live show is an irresistible assault of electric anthems and adolescent deviance possibly why The Datsuns personally invited them to support them at their Shepherds Bush Empire show last week. But the fun doesn't stop there. Au contraire. There's also a barrow-load of quality DJs on show to keep you dancing all night long. Latest chart icons and local heroes Razorlight top the bill with more than ample support from The Beatings' Dino, Radio 1 beauty Edith Bowman, Stuart (Kill City) and the sexiest pair of DJs this side of Camden Lock, Spin Dollys. On top of all this lot (not literally of course) there's gonna be all sorts of people popping up. The only way to find out who is to be there. I trust you will be.
Also this weekend, it's MJ Hibbett's birthday, and to celebrate he'll be live on Steve Lamacq's show on Radio 6, on Sunday...

Dino's Italian Resteraunt nr Oxford Street London
What do you think they were doing? Having lunch of course!! I was waiting for my Visa results from the American Embassy around the corner and found this little Italian Resteraunt to go have my dinner. I'm sitting down to eat my Chicken All' Allegio or whatever it was called when in walks the singer of Papa Roach with some other dude. Sorry othere dude but I didn't recognise ya whoever you are. Anyway I know Coby had a Peroni (Italian Beer for the uninitiated) but that's about all. I did go up after my meal and congratulate Coby on a "Wikkid Album" but didn't bug him for an autograph as I though it was rude during food! He did say "Cheers Man" and "Peace" after I said "Enjoy the food". Hi head looked a bit mashed up, guess he took a dive off stage or summit.
Oh yeah I got the Visa wahoo!
Oh yeah the time and date was Tuesday August 29th 2001 about 1.30PM.

CHARLIE’S SHED continue their comeback with a gig at the Lanterns in Folkestone on New Year’s Eve, Saturday December 31st.
As experimental as The Coral, but as accessible as Oasis, the band’s sound is a fusion of heavy / melodic guitars, punk dynamics and pop melodies and their intelligently crafted, honest pop songs have earned the band a huge following.
CHARLIE’S SHED burst onto the scene at the start of the decade and are probably best remembered for reaching the final of the MGD Battle of the Bands contest for unsigned and undiscovered bands in 2002 which included some legendary nights out, including a sell-out crowd at the Hackney Ocean final. After regularly playing London, recording at BBC’s Maida Vale and performing live on Sky TV, the band is now back with new material.
The band recently made their comeback at the Lanterns back in November and have recently played other shows at the Black Bull, Mustangs, the Happy Frenchman and the White Lion.
CHARLIE’S SHED are Romer Stephens (lead guitar/lead vocals), Luke Stephens (bass), Dino Fowler (drums), Nic Bennett (guitar) and Clive Bowden (guitar).
The supporting bill includes an acoustic set from THE BAGS (Sean and Ali who used to play in Consume).
Tickets for New Year’s Eve are £10 in advance – call Richard on 07810 864228 – and it all runs from 8pm-very late.
