Seven second pint

Jan 8
IndigO2, Peninsula Square, Greenwich, London

Indigo2 at the O2 Arena are boasting a fast pint:

"7 second pint" fast-pour technology at both of the large bars, quality air conditioning and more toilets per audience member than any other venue of comparable size.

Do you think that bodes well for getting a quality drink anywhere when we go to The Cure next month? What do they serve at the bar at the O2? It used to be that all you could get was Carling, and I think I'd rather not drink than drink that, but that was when they sponsored every venue. Now O2 have taken over, what's the beer situation? Should I wear one of these into the gig?

Nickelback Platinum Pit tickets

Jan 6
O2 Arena, Peninsula Square, Greenwich, London SE10 0DX

Interesting what Nickelback are offering on their current tour, no champagne reception like did, but this is more what the rock fans would expect I think. The corporate rock fan with a few hundred quid in his pocket anyway, this is the kind of deal KISS have been offering around the world for a while now, but I think it's quite new to the UK:

One general admission (standing room) VIP pit ticket exclusively located within the stage design.

This exclusive ticket does not only give you access into the show, you will be part of the show! (Very limited quantity available, exclusive to ticket package only)

Early entry into the venue / beat the lines and get in first

Personal Photo opportunity with Nickleback

Exclusive Nickleback Concert Shirt

Collectable Nickleback Tour Poster (Limited edition, Numbered)

Official commemorative VIP Laminate

Set of official Nickleback guitar picks

GBP275 quid to you squire...

I saw the "be a part of the show" people when I watched the Elton John new year show on TV, they swarmed over the stage camera phones aloft, will it be like that this time? Why have The Cure not offered us this yet?

Less ticket talk coming soon, I promise. Unless people keep buying...

Snow patrol

Still very icy round here, and even some residual snow on the ground from yesterday that did not thaw yet.

Blanket box frenzy

Jan 6

Habitat radius blanket box, over a hundred quid already and there's still a week to go. I really like them, and apparently they've stopped doing them, but it's too far away for me to collect. So feel free to bid...

The mini winner

We gave away a mini at work, I didn't get to pick the winner, so you will have no idea who this person is :-)

Speaking of things gigographic

Jan 5
Wembley Arena, Engineers Way, Wembley, London HA9 0DH

I kind of was earlier, mentioned my gigography, was I really never at a gig at this week in history? Doesn't sound very likely, I think something's gone wrong. The dinner is on, I have a good twenty minutes to investigate before Clare gets in from work.

Thank you to the person who bought two "Club Wembley" tickets for Coldplay following my ooh look at all the stuff you get post from a couple of days ago. Cost to you, GBP330.80, commission to me a measly fifty pence again. To be honest, I'd be far better off if you waited for the gig to sell out and then bought them second hand. I know then you don't get the free drinks and all that, but let's get our priorities straight...

We got snow this morning

Jan 5

Wasn't expecting that at all, looks lovely but not so helpful for our first day back at work of the year. Just seen Clare off to the station, she's shuffling carefully towards her train right now and hoping it's on time. It's apparently not going to warm up all day, so hope she's OK for getting home. Hope I have a lift in today too. It's days like this when it seems like it would have been a brighter idea to get a car already... That was the plan, to have that all sorted over the christmas period, but I'll get there soon. I'm just terrified of spending large amounts of money.

Our big spending over christmas seems to have worked out OK so far - I assembled the tall boy at last, and it looks good. If I'd not lost the camera I could take pictures for you, will be getting a new one soon, what should we get? The wardrobe is still in pieces in the corner of the room, not assembling that until I can rearrange the room, but at least I can start to think about doing that now I know how to dismantle the pool table...

A few more bits of furniture have sprung up overnight, a blanket box in Doncaster, a bench in Wigston, and a console table in Hillesley. There have been a few more bids on the TV table and the coffee table, so good luck there... All very nice furniture and solid oak, but please remember - don't bid on any of the pieces I'm going for. It's none of these this time, so you're OK...

Did some work on my gigography, each gig now has it's own page, will hopefully make it easier for other people searching for gig info. See (as a completely random example) Nirvana at Birmingham Hummingbird in 1991. Got some more things to add there, maybe even ticket scans. Also found a bundle of random pictures that I had been hosting here on this website for one reason and another. They're all on flickr now, I will try and remember why I was hosting each one and put it back into some sort of context... It's just a distraction from all the really important things I have to do this year, which I am putting off. I was going to make "less procrastinating" my new year's resolution this year, but maybe next year.

Time for work :-(
